Did you know that it is National Seat Belt Awarness week? Yes that time to really remember to buckle up! It s the law and it works. The Nevada Highway Patrol noted that 58 of the 248 traffic fatalities in 2009 would have been prevented had they been wearing a seat belt.
Its important to know that AAA reports that over 90% of the child safety seats are installed wrong! If you have questions about your car seat check out there website, or stop by your local firestation and they can help you.
Tires
A quick note on tires. It is important to check your air pressure! As the temperature changes, so does the pressure in your tire. This can cause premature wear, and loss of gas mileage.
When we look at your tires and make them all shiny and pretty, we always look for a cut, nail, or dry checking. The dry checking is caused by the excessive heat we have in Nevada and dry air. This combination results in the tire cracking which can lead to a loss in air pressure and eventually tire failure.
Its so important to maintain your car or truck. It does so much for you, you can give it a little love and attention. A car wash or detail doesn’t hurt either!

I just LOVE Feburary in Las Vegas. Great weather and most of all the month ends with the Nascar weekend. It seems like forever that the season ended and yet it was only Novemeber. A great 2 weeks in Daytona capped with an emotional win by Jamie McMurray. A guy that was out of a ride and comes back to win Nascars biggest race. It goes to show the heart of a racer, never give up and never give in.
One not worth mentioning was a piece I saw regarding the Nascar community helping out with the Haiti earthquake. The teams had set up airplane runs with food, clothing and supplies right away. These teams organized and got the ball moving quickly. So once there they flew back several groups of Americans and orphans to be with there new families. I am amazed that these teams that where right in the middle of preparing for a new season stopped and gave there heart and soul to help people in need.
In some parts of the country, it is still below zero and covered in snow. Thats ok because in a garage somewhere is a guy getting his own car ready for an auto show, a race season, or his high schooler ready to start driving. So get out there and get your car ready for spring. Its closer than you think!

This keeps happening. We detail a car and it sells in a day! It baffels me that some people think they dont need a detail to sell a car. I had a lady take her freshly detailed car to the dealer for a trade in, she said they didnt even look at it. I know they did and saw a well maintained car and that was it.

A clean car is so important to a buyer. It shows that you took care of the apperance and therefore must have maintained the mechanics. Its all about perception. This is why I highly recommend an engine cleaned with any detail package for a sale or trade in.

Here are a few of the radical cars at SEMA this year. I first went to SEMA back in 85 as a young boy who loved cars, now its hugh and even better every year.
This year I attended a working seminar with West Coast Customs. We took the cloth seats out of a Nissan Armada and recovered them in leather. I have never really done anything like it before. Now, I am looking to recover my own suburban in the near future to freshen up the look. Contact me for more information on how much you can save and the options out there!

Now that fall is officially here, car shows around the country are in full swing. Here in the Las Vegas valley, one of the biggest shows in the southwest is this weekend! Right in the heart of downtown Henderson, the SuperRun is a compilation of new cars, muscle cars, custom cars, hot rods, antiques, race cars, lowriders, rat rods you name it. Trust me as a guy who has been to hundreds of shows, this is a close quarters look at a wide variety of cars. I have had my own car in this show several times and just love to go walk around and talk shop with the car owners! There is even a burnout competition! Well to much to say here, check out their website superrun.com for more info> the fun starts Thursday night with a kick off party at the District@ Green Valley ranch. See you there!

The last few weeks, my wife and I have been shopping for a used car. Our lease was up and we needed a bigger car for her job as a real estate agent. So the search was on. She went to a local dealer who had a Honda Odyssey listed on the internet. Once she got to see the van, the carpets were black (not the interior color), the windshield was cracked, the tires were shot. She knows that I can clean the appearance of the car, yet she has a preconceived notion that the car has not been well maintained and not cared for. It made her wonder if the oil was changed (ever!) and what else the owners had neglected. She did drive the car to find out it pulled to one side. Now she is not a car person at all and she ran away mad to have wasted her time with a vehicle that should have never been out for sale until it was ready.
